Dover Corporation Case Study

Headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, Dover manufactures innovative equipment and components, specialty systems and support services in the energy, engineered systems, fluids and refrigeration & food equipment industry segments. As a global manufacturer, Dover employs over 26,000 people and has $7 billion in annual revenues.

Hillphoenix, Inc., an operating company of Dover’s, had outdated legacy systems that were costly, overly complex and customized. To provide a single view of Hillphoenix’s financials was a tremendous extraction and consolidation effort. Moving to a Shared Service model, with Oracle enabling that process, helped to provide a consolidated view of financials.

The CSS Approach

Because complexity was an issue with this upgrade, CSS identified areas where the new software could solve business problems or functional requirements. CSS assigned a beginning-to-end dedicated project governance team, and approached the project so that the change to the system would have a positive impact on processes and employees.

CSS helped Hillphoenix implement an out-of-the-box, scalable solution that transformed their business and supported their continued growth.  Benefits needed to be tweaked towards the benefits of implementing Oracle Financials in a shared service environment.

We recognized the importance of selecting the right partner for our project. CSS is highly qualified and their sole focus on Oracle solutions were a significant help during implementation.
